What is Fiat?
With its history dating back to 1899, the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (Fiat) started out making cars from its factory in Turin.
Now Italy’s best-selling car manufacturer, the company produces a wide range of vehicles from high-performance sports cars all the way to city compacts and vans.

- 500: The Fiat 500 is the quintessential city car, with its compact size and nimble handling. The 500 has enjoyed popularity amongst new and inexperienced motorists, especially because it’s cheap to buy and cheap to run. The Punto is often compared to the Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta, and is noted for being generally cheaper to run than the other models. The Punto comes with a handy ‘City’ button which can be pressed to make the steering lighter so that you can get a bit more manoeuvrability when trying to squeeze into a tight parking space. Insurance costs just under £700 on average for someone aged 31-40, with the Punto falling into insurance groups 6-16.
