Car insurance provider offers free breakdown cover

A car insurance provider is promising to “come to the rescue” of customers if they are left stranded while out on the roads.

Churchill is offering new policy holders free breakdown cover, a move that spokesperson Tony Chilcott said demonstrates “value and service”.

He revealed that Churchill customers whose cars break down will be offered assistance by a recovery worker within 30 minutes of calling the firm.

And they can also benefit from repairs on vehicles being guaranteed for five years, he stated.

Named drivers on the company’s car insurance policies are able to earn their own no-claims bonus, something that Mr Chilcott remarked is “essential for households downsizing to one car”.

Meanwhile, esure has urged Britons embarking on caravanning trips this summer to add breakdown cover to their car insurance, noting that towing a caravan can place extra strain on a vehicle.

It also recommended that people check their motors before setting off on any long journeys.
