Marks & Spencer has been voted the best credit card provider at this year’s annual Your Money Direct Awards.
It is the second time that the company has won the award and the judges cited the popularity of its credit card product with consumers as a key factor in awarding them the title for the second consecutive year.
The credit card is one of several financial products provided by M&S Money and there was further good news when the company’s life insurance policy also scooped an award.
The judges declared the company the Best Life Insurance Provider because of the “qualities that characterise the entire operation of M&S Money”.
In particular, the life insurance premium offered by M&S Money was identified as being good value for money and supported by a high standard of service.
Brendan Cook, chief executive of M&S Money, commented: “What makes these awards really special is that they are judged by Your Money’s readers, so they represent the true feelings of our customers and potential customers.
“We’re especially pleased with our double win, for M&S life insurance and our credit card for the second year running.”
In other news, the Co-operative Bank has revealed that is has turned down £700 million in loan applications since introducing its ethical guidelines 15 years ago.
