The UK’s leading general insurance organisation, Biba, has renewed its advice that drivers need to take extra care on Britain’s roads during the winter months.

Biba-sanctioned advice for driving during the winter includes taking basic precautionary measures such as using anti-freeze, verifying tyres adhere to legal tread depth requirements and always ensuring your car is defrosted before driving.
“It’s the sensible precautions [that are important] at this time of year,” Mr Trudgill said. “Make sure you’re ready [and] make sure your car’s ready so if something does happen then you’ll be prepared.”
He added that carrying insurance details on your person or in your vehicle is essential should you require breakdown assistance.
A recent survey commissioned by Kia Motors UK Limited found that winter is the season in which British drivers are least prepared for hazardous driving conditions.
