Halifax has announced the launch of a new One credit card on July 10th, with an unusual offer of zero per cent on both balance transfer transactions and new purchases.
Both zero per cent terms will also be available for a generous nine-month term before reverting to a low rate of 9.9 per cent.
People paying a more normal rate of 16.9 per cent could save themselves an average £261 in their first 12 months of the One card, claims Halifax.
“Many providers will offer zero per cent on either balance transfers or purchases,” said Ian Larkin of Halifax credit cards.†
“We’re offering customers both, coupled with a market leading typical APR. No other high street provider has such a strong overall offer.”
Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) saw the number of credit card accounts held by customers increase by a million last year for the fifth consecutive year.
The card will also offer an ongoing deal providing interest-free credit on all purchases if the balance is paid in full at the end of each month.
