The number of people who have serious concerns about debt management issues is on the rise, an expert at a charity dealing with the issue has said.
Director of Credit Action Chris Tapp stated: “We have seen a growth in people struggling with finances and that certainly has knocked on to people worrying more about them.”
He added that as well as money problems being a concern in themselves, such stresses are having a negative effect on people’s health and wellbeing.
Mr Tapp stated that much of the issue was connected with the economic situation, observing that this includes those who have lost their jobs and also those who are worrying that this may happen to them in the near future.
Earlier this week, CreditExpert stated that a new condition had been identified in the economic crisis – known as recession strain injury – where the pressures of the downturn lead to people suffering physical damage.
It stated that the tendency had been observed by chartered physiotherapist Sammy Margo, who had seen a 25 per cent rise in strain injury cases at her clinic.
