Charity affiliated credit cards offer very competitive rates to consumers, a high street bank has claimed.
According to Halifax, charity credit cards are competitive in comparison to the standard credit card products on the market.
This means that they are a viable stand-alone product for banks and lenders to provide, spokesman Alex Barnett said.
“If you compare our charity card to any of the high street banks’ normal cards, they are still as good,” he remarked.
And he added: “They are, as a stand-alone product and even without the charity element, very competitive.”
Halifax is one of a number of banks and finance groups – such as Nationwide and American Express – that offer charity-tied credit cards.
In other news, Halifax – which is Britain’s biggest mortgage lender – has predicted that house price inflation will slow down in the latter half of this year.
