Top Tips

  • Book early - Do you have your heart set on a particular destination or have set dates you need to travel on? Booking early is strongly recommended. UK tour operators have reduced their stock of holidays by as much as 15% over the last 2 years, so the early bird catches the worm!
  • Shop around - Travel agents and tour operators offer a wide choice of package holidays so shop around beforehand. Packages will include different combinations from room only, B&B, half/full board and all inclusive arrangements. Pick the right package to suit you and your party.
  • Read reviews - It is a good idea to research your destination and your accommodation in advance of your booking. This will give you great directions to help tailor the right package for you.
  • Verify all booking information - Check that all spellings of names and personal details like dates of birth and addresses of your party are correct when booking flights and accommodation. Changing these details later can cost a lot of money. You may have to pay both the travel agent and the tour operator to make these corrections.
  • ATOL - When booking your holiday, look out for the ATOL logo on brochures and websites. The Air Travel Organisers' Licensing is a financial protection scheme managed by the Air Travel Trust (ATT) under statute that protects your holiday and provides the funds to protect customers should a firm fail. All tour operators and travel organisers are required to participate.
  • The Ash Factor - As most holidaymakers found out recently, Package Tour Operators quickly took responsibility for their passengers during the ash cloud crisis, irrespective of the actual cause of the calamity. Travel with confidence by booking a package holiday.
